My Story For His Glory

God is so good.  Yesterday, so many girls and women came together to learn collectively and individually about God’s heart for our stories.  What a cool opportunity to worship together in the here and now Kingdom of God.

In session 1, you were welcomed into the Simply Beautiful living room for a “chat” (minus the coffee!). {How about that stage, huh?  Major props to Anna Killen Maling for that!!!} Bethany proclaimed that we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), and therefore, God doesn’t make junk. Everything He does has purpose- if you let it-and He will redeem every part of our stories… Even the stuff we don’t want to admit is part of our lives. She also used Ephesians 2 to remind us that we are God’s workmanship. Then, you went to some incredible, interesting, and exciting labs.

And then, it was on to the afternoon! Way to go, ladies, for not complaining about the rain and eating on the floor.  More labs and more truth, and then the final session. Something that landed hard in my heart (which I totally tried to tweet but was afraid of missing more glorious nuggets of truth) was that our feelings lie to us and change so quickly, so we can’t trust them. Bethany was quick to point out that because our feelings are inconsistent and shaky, we HAVE to rely on God’s truth to tell us how to think… But not only that- to tell us what the truth ACTUALLY is. Which means, ladies, you need to learn God’s truth to think God’s truth. I LOVED hearing this: “sometimes, it’s having faith that hope will come.”.

Finally, we were given such a gift to celebrate God by singing songs of truth- thank you, Anna and your team, for leading us with joyful hearts! Our closing song was a jubilant anthem, and my hope is that you go out with joy and be lead forth with peace, and allow this chorus to be a prayer of your heart. {If you are interested, it’s a song by Rend Collective called Build Your Kingdom Here.}

Build Your kingdom here.
Let the darkness fear.
Show Your mighty hand.
Heal our streets and land.
Set Your church on fire.
Win this nation back.
Change the atmosphere.
Build Your kingdom here.
We pray.

So much truth spoken to our hearts- what on earth do you do with all those nuggets? Well, Mary said it best- stories were meant to be shared. Please  use what God spoke into your story to remind others that God still works, God still hears, and God still speaks. Not only that, but feel free to comment below about what you or your friends learned- we would love to hear it!
